FLOWGEN Sets Sail: Empowering Youth for Water Justice and the Blue Economy!

We’re thrilled to announce the official launch of FLOWGEN – Youth-Led Innovations for the Blue Economy & Water Justice!

On September 1st, 2025, this ambitious new project kicked off with the mission to put young people at the heart of Europe’s sustainable future.

Funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ Programme, and specifcially the Slovenian National Agency (Zavod MOVIT NA MLADINA), FLOWGEN brings together a passionate team of partners from across Europe who believe that the solutions to our most pressing challenges start with empowering youth.

Water is life — but it’s also one of the defining challenges of our generation. From climate change to sustainability and equality, the way we manage and protect water resources will shape the future of our societies. FLOWGEN is here to equip young people with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to become changemakers in the blue economy — driving innovation, entrepreneurship, and justice in water-dependent regions.

FLOWGEN is powered by a diverse consortium of organizations that share a commitment to youth empowerment, education, and sustainability:

• Kersnikova Institute (Slovenia) – A cultural and educational hub merging art, science, and technology to inspire creativity and digital innovation among youth.

• LATRA (Greece) – An award-winning innovation lab on Lesvos, working at the crossroads of education, climate, and social change. LATRA leads FLOWGEN with a bold vision of inclusive learning and community-driven innovation.

• Youth Bridges Budapest (Hungary) – A foundation that builds communities, strengthens dialogue, and supports young people in tackling social inequalities, sustainability challenges, and the digital future.

• Esplai Social (Spain) – A non-profit dedicated to social integration, equality, and LGTBI rights, with a strong focus on youth education and entrepreneurship.

  
  

Together, we are creating a dynamic platform where young innovators can explore, experiment, and lead the way toward more resilient and equitable futures.

Over the coming months, FLOWGEN will roll out exciting activities: workshops, training programs, digital resources, and youth-led initiatives that bring the blue economy and water justice to life. From hands-on community projects to international collaborations, young people will not just learn — they’ll lead.
